From my position as a scientist, I obtain a very different scale from the mass media for evaluating the importance of different issues of the day. Here is my chance to give some visibility to issues that I think may eventually prove to be very important. "You saw it here first"—this is you chance to become aware of these issues before they "hit the fan" and it is too late to ameliorate the damage.
