No way do I want a Maui resident, such as Joe Bertram, sitting on the County Planning Commission. It should be obvious that any Maui resident will have a conflict of interest when sitting in judgement of private developers, since Maui residents benefit personally from having open space and beautiful scenery on the island. At least Joe Bertram showed his true colors as a lackey for the Maui community when he spoke out. Private developers will have no justice until the County government is purged of Maui residents and their local biases. I'm glad the legal system gives Maui Land and Pineapple Company the tools to do just that.
