Thanks to this meeting, I had the opportunity to hear Sewall Wright lecture, and to sit near him at dinner at China First restaurant on El Camino Real in Palo Alto. I was a very naive first-year graduate student, and I asked Wright,
“When you used ‘w’ to represent fitness coefficients, was ‘w’ for ‘Wright’?” Wright answered, “No, it was for ‘worth’.”
